Adventures and activities at Treworgey and nearby

Some of our wonderful regular guests who bring their teenage children and numerous teenage friends to stay at Treworgey each year tell us that Treworgey is a wonderful place for young adults to escape the pressures of school and peer groups.  It's a place where it really doesn't matter what they wear, where exams can be temporarily forgotten, where new experiences can give them an opportunity to be children again.

Explore the fantastic facilities at Treworgey and the adventures to be had in our local area below.

On-site outdoor activities

  • Heated outdoor pool with a fantastic views.  Water polo anyone?

  • Horse riding for all abilities (see below)

  • 150 acres of our farm and woodland to explore

  • Tennis on our all weather court

  • Help to care for the animals and horses - those with an interest can get really involved in helping and learning

  • Lie back and watch the clouds on our big new basket swing

  • Borrow our fantastic free-standing telescope to star-gaze

Indoor activities

  • Table tennis
  • Pool table
  • Volleyball, badminton or make up a new game (as some of our teenage regulars have done!) in our indoor beach

Riding

Riding lessons and hacks for all ages are led by our fantastic instructors, Niki and Betty, who create exciting, challenging sessions for all abilities and get on famously with the young people who stay with us. See our riding page for more.

For those who are keen to learn more, they can often help out with the ponies and horses all through the week.

Local adventures

There are loads of great places to go locally to keep the teenagers well entertained:

  • Adrenaline Quarry - adventure activities from an incredibly long zip wire over an old quarry, to free fall swing, coasteering to cliff jumping

  • Fantastic mountain biking trails with bike hire and great cafe at Lanhydrock

  • The Eden Project has a zip wire over the domes and an ice rink in winter

  • Wakeboarding park, kayaking, sailing and more water sports at Siblyback Lake

What our visitors have to say:

"I have to admit that I thought it would be boring stuck here in the middle of nowhere .... but we have swum (the pool is luscious, even if it's cold outside) and traveled to beaches, cinema, bowling and been biking and riding. You can walk to Sandplace station (10 mins) and catch a train to Looe or lots of places." LUCY WILLIAMSON (AGED 15)
"This is our second visit (first in Jasmine). It is a wonderful place. Our daughter has spent much of her time sitting in the conservatory revising and she has appreciated the view. We all feel relaxed and almost ready to return to work & school. Thanks again" ANDY, FELICITY & IMOGEN
"The horse riding has been so much fun, as usual, hacks are fantastic and jumping in lessons I love! Thank you so much Treworgey Team." LAURA PAGE (13 yrs, Herts)
